The DigiFlex® Performance™ (DP) Series digital servo drives are designed to drive brushed and brushless servomotors. These fully digital drives operate in torque, velocity, or position mode and employ Space Vector Modulation (SVM), which results in higher bus voltage utilization and reduced heat dissipation compared to traditional PWM. The command source can be generated internally or can be supplied externally. In addition to motor control, these drives feature dedicated and programmable digital and analog inputs and outputs to enhance interfacing with external controllers and devices.
This DP Series drive features an EtherCAT interface for networking and a USB port for drive configuration and setup. Drive commissioning is accomplished using AMC's no charge DriveWare Software.
All drive and motor parameters are stored in non-volatile memory.

These drives support either 5V incremental encoder, 1Vp-p Sine/Cosine encoder, or Absolute encoder (Stegmann Hiperface®, Heidenhain EnDat®, or BiSS C-Mode) firmware-defined feedback.
For 5V incremental encoder or 1Vp-p Sine/Cosine encoder, Hall sensors are recommended for initial commutation, but are not required. These drives can be configured to run without Halls by using "Phase Detect" on startup (Wake & Shake).
Absolute position feedback eliminates the need for a homing routine on drive power-up. There is also no need for Hall Sensors for commutation when using this type of feedback.
DPE-series drives now support Indexing and Jogging commands using the Motion Engine feature in DriveWare® 7.
